We started Saturday, our final day in Williamsburg, by
watching a Faces of the Nation
presentation this particular snippet addressed the plight of Susannah Randolph
a young unmarried woman who was forced
to follow her father and mother to England because of her father John’s
political leanings as an English loyalist.
The Randolph family is particularly
interesting because John’s younger brother was Payton the president of the
first and second Continental Congress.The Randolph house was one of the largest residences in
Williamsburg. The second picture contains a typical meal.in the Randolph household,
Our next reenactment
was a public audience with Thomas Jefferson. As with so many other performances
the actor Bill Barker knew a great deal about his character. Barker has been
portraying Jefferson for 37 years.
We had two excellent meals in Colonial Williamsburg the
first was an excellent lunch at the Kings Arms on Friday
The second was dinner this
evening at Shield’s tavern. This was the last night of the rally with a great
group of Beaver’s
